To Princess 1,
Happy birthday!!! I can’t believe you are five years old. It’s just crazy. You’ve been on earth for half a decade.
You arrived to us after 19 hours of premature labour at 10:27am on Christmas Eve. You just couldn’t wait another seven weeks of being inside my tummy. You had a rough start but you’ve never stopped fighting in every aspect of your life.
This past month I’ve really noticed you growing up. You’ve started to be less stroppy about uncomfortable tights and you’ll attempt to get dressed on your own which I’m extremely pleased about. Ok, so your sleeping has deteriorated and I never thought I’d say that. You’ve always been such a wonderful sleeper but every few days you’ve been waking in the night for various reasons.
You are reading basic words now, sounding them all out perfectly and you love to copy words and write on your own. I think you’re doing great at school and I’m so proud.
As it’s your birthday I thought I’d share some of the pictures I’ve taken today for you to look at when you’re older. You’ve had quite a busy day; Great-Grandad has been round ALL day, Nannie T & Grandad D & Uncle G have also popped by to see you and you’ve had your school friend round all afternoon. I definitely think you may be getting a little bored of presents but you’ve still got Christmas tomorrow. Here are the photos from today my big five year old:
I hope you’ve had a wonderful birthday.

Christmas Eve
As well as being P1s birthday, it’s also Christmas Eve and I’ve been practicing with my new camera. I have literally documented the girls to every inch of their lives today. But I got some lovely shots of hubby and of my Grandad.
The girls each got a Christmas Eve present to open. I know that everyone seems to have given them as gifts from the Elves, but ours were from us – a timeless gift. It included a Christmas book, chocolate bears, little Santa toy and a DVD (for P1).
We’ve had a lovely day and are pretty worn out. We still have Christmas to get through though…
